Elijah’s Promise Soup Kitchen

Since 1989, Elijah’s Promise has used food as a tool to alleviate hunger, empower lives and invite justice for the most vulnerable members of their Central New Jersey community. They operate a community soup kitchen, culinary arts school, catering business, pay-as-you-can café, and connect low-income individuals and families with social and health services. With the support of volunteers, donors and community partners, they serve more than 100,000 meals per year and train previously unskilled workers for careers in the food service industry.

Kosher Meals on Wheels

The most important and most anticipated event of the day for many senior adults, who are homebound, disabled, unable to shop and/or cook for themselves is to receive home-delivered hot and cold kosher meals from the KMOW program. The food is important, but of equal importance is the chance to have a conversation, or share a few words, with the volunteer who is delivering these meals to their home Monday through Friday, For Jewish Holidays, such as Passover, a special meal can help a senior adult honor their traditions.
